SPGC leads in supporting domestic production: VP

SHANA (Tehran) – the vice president for science, technology, and knowledge-based economy announced that the South Pars Gas Complex (SPGC) has provided the most support for first-time production and new technology-based firms (NTBFs) within the Ministry of Oil in recent years.

Hossein Afshin, speaking during a visit to the complex on Monday, stated that the SPGC, the largest achievement of Iran's oil and gas industry, has become a hub for the country's economy, security, and prosperity.

Highlighting the critical role of the complex's employees in maximizing the country's gas production, Afshin noted that recent promising records in gas processing and delivery to the national grid reflect the round-the-clock efforts and dedication of the complex's staff and experts.

The vice president emphasized that the 14th administration, with public participation and the proper implementation of Building Regulation 19, aims to manage gas consumption and direct this valuable resource toward production in industries, power plants, and petrochemicals to foster the country's economic growth.

Afshin added that the SPGC, in collaboration with over 120 high-quality domestic manufacturers, has localized the production of more than 11,600 strategic goods, equipment, and parts needed for its 13 refineries. He expressed hope that these valuable efforts will expand in the future.

He stated that the primary goal is for NTBFs and first-time producers to create high-quality products that succeed not only in the domestic market but also in export markets, supporting the South Pars Refinery in maximizing gas processing and byproduct production.

Afshin pointed out that the unveiling of eight key first-time manufactured equipment at the complex, created by the innovative and capable hands of the country's youth, demonstrates the complex's valuable support for domestic manufacturers.

He urged NTBFs and startups to identify the needs of the oil and gas industry and enhance the quality of their products to further integrate into this sector.

During the visit, strategic equipment was unveiled, including a 100% domestically produced seven-stream aluminum cryogenic heat exchanger, a 24-inch Class 600 metal-to-metal non-abrasive gate valve, a centrifugal blower package for the sulfur recovery unit, and several other key devices at the eighth refinery of the SPGC.
