Gas transmit up by 4 bcm over 10 months: IGTC

SHANA (Tehran) – The CEO of the Iranian Gas Transmission Company (IGTC) announced a 4 billion-cubic-meter increase in gas transfer from the beginning of this year (March 20, 2024) through late January compared to the same period last year.

Payam Khazraei, during a visit to the operational Zone 5 and the Farashband Gas Pressure Boosting Station, stated that 252 bcm of gas have been transferred across the country during the 10 months to January 19, marking a 4 billion cubic meter increase compared to the same period last year.

Khazraei highlighted the round-the-clock efforts of the company’s employees and the cooperation of upstream gas production sectors, emphasizing that despite the drop in temperatures and increased natural gas consumption, there have been no interruptions in stable gas transfer.

The CEO noted that the company operates 10 operational zones, over 40,000 kilometers of high-pressure gas pipelines, and 94 gas pressure boosting stations across the country.

He added that the Farashband Gas Pressure Boosting Station, as one of the strategic facilities in operational Zone 5, holds significant importance in the national gas transmission network due to its critical role.

Khazraei also reported on the development of infrastructure in this sector, stating that in the first half of the year, new facilities such as the Abpakhsh 6, Khurmuj, Dorahan 10, and Pol-Kaleh 10 gas pressure boosting stations were added to the company’s network.

In the second half of the year, the operational launch of the "Shahid Dehshir Gas Pressure Boosting Station" is planned as part of the National Iranian Gas Company’s development program.
