The incident has not caused any disruption in the distribution of liquid gas. In its statement, NIOPDC said:
"Following our previous announcement regarding the incident on Wednesday (January 22) at one of the LPG storage tanks in Ray, we would like to inform our fellow citizens that the fire was controlled by operational and safety teams without causing damage or spreading to other facilities. The safe evacuation of liquid gas from the tanks is currently underway.
The incident occurred around 10:30 a.m. during the technical and operational team's efforts to open the safety valves of the liquid gas tank. Thanks to the relentless efforts of the operational teams and the use of all available firefighting resources and equipment, the situation was brought under full control.
Fortunately, the extraction and loading of liquid gas from the facility are now proceeding normally, and the incident has not caused any disruption to the distribution operations.
Regrettably, one of the company’s operational staff suffered burns and injuries during the repair work and is currently receiving specialized medical care at a hospital."
