Mojtaba Yousefi made the remarks on Saturday during the opening ceremony of the 15th Khuzestan Specialized Exhibition of Petroleum Industry, Equipment, Manufacturing.

He emphasized the need to utilize resources from the Seventh Development Plan and the National Development Fund to boost gas production from independent fields and enhance gas pressure in South Pars. 

Yousefi stated that investing in the oil and gas industry should not be seen as a cost but rather as an investment, as it enhances the country’s technical capabilities.

He stressed that to mitigate the impact of sanctions, Iran must focus on domestic expertise and technical knowledge. 

The lawmaker also called for serious attention to the livelihoods of all oil industry workers, from laborers in remote areas to specialists in the field. 

The 15th Khuzestan Specialized Exhibition of Petroleum Industry, Equipment, Manufacturing will run from January 11 to 14 (Saturday to Tuesday) in Ahvaz and is open to the public from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
