Agreement inked to transfer gasoline quotas to bank accounts

SHANA (Tehran) – The National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company (NIORDC) and the Tehran Municipality signed an agreement to pilot the transfer of gasoline quotas from fuel cards to vehicle owners' bank accounts.

The agreement was signed on Tuesday, at the Iranian Parliament. The signing ceremony was attended by Mousa Ahmadi, head of the Energy Committee of the Islamic Consultative Assembly; Mohammad-Sadeq Azimifar, CEO of NIORDC; and Mohsen Hormozi, deputy mayor of Tehran for transportation.

Under Article 2, Section (T) of Note (3) of the country's budget law, the Ministry of Oil is required to facilitate the transfer of fuel quotas from fuel cards to bank cards within four months of the law's enforcement.

This will be carried out in cooperation with the Central Bank of Iran through the relevant subsidiary responsible for refining and distribution.
