During Sunday’s open parliamentary session, Ali Nikzad addressed the fire incident at the refinery, which occurred the previous day.
He expressed condolences to the family of the deceased worker and thanked the refinery’s emergency response teams. He also wished a speedy recovery for the injured.
The fire at Unit 70 was fully extinguished after continuous efforts by operational and rescue teams. Production at the refinery remains stable, with other units compensating for the temporary loss of capacity.
Preliminary technical investigations indicate the fire was caused by a leak in one of Unit 70’s pumps. So far, there is no evidence of sabotage or human interference. Tragically, the incident resulted in the death of one refinery employee.
