Ahmad Moradi emphasized that even with efficient fuel delivery, problems persist due to the outdated systems.
The MP highlighted the issue of energy imbalance, describing it as a deep-rooted problem.
“Every winter, we face challenges in gas supply, and every summer, we experience electricity shortages,” he said. “The Energy Committee, in collaboration with the Ministry of Oil and the Ministry of Energy, is making every effort to find solutions to manage and reduce consumption.”
Moradi pointed out that the challenges and shortcomings of power plants are among the main reasons for energy imbalance.
“Power plants are supplied with gas, fuel oil, and diesel, but their outdated structures mean that even with adequate fuel delivery, problems remain,” he said. “Some of these plants may not have undergone major repairs for years.”
The Energy Committee member noted that this winter, most parts of the country are experiencing colder temperatures compared to previous years, which has inevitably increased energy consumption.
He stressed the need to manage consumption as much as possible and to take measures such as boosting pressure or preparing infrastructure to increase production.
“With the cooperation between the government and Parliament, as well as the support of the public, I believe we can navigate through winter with minimal challenges and keep the energy imbalance under control,” he concluded.
