Government Counts on Media to Solve Problems

SHANA (Tehran) - Continued electricity, natural gas and gasoline imbalances will worsen the current situation, a problem that needs to be solved.

Speaking at his first press conference since becoming president in August, Iranian president Masoud Pezeshkian said he would try to bring back trust in society.

Replying to a question on the investment challenges, he said: “If we can solve our problems concerning FATF and Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and generally our relations with the rest of the world so that it improves employment and investment situation, we will not only be able to solve current problems but to attain goals set by the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution.

In response to another question concerning the government plan for solving energy imbalances and achieving the 7th National Development Plan goals, the president said that continued energy imbalance will deteriorate the existing situation. Pezeshkian added that we should deal with the issue of imbalances and not say that if we take a step to solve the problem, the voices will be raised in protest.

“Meanwhile, we expect the media to give a hand by offering their ideas to facilitate solving the issue of imbalance”, he noted.
