Iran Pursuing Constructive Interaction

SHANA (Tehran) - Iranian president Masoud Pezeshkian says that Iran not only seeks constructive and equal relations with all countries but tries to replace war and bloodshed with peace and security.

According to the Presidential Information Center, Masoud Pezeshkian, who has traveled to New York to attend the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly, on Monday met with senior managers of more than 40 American media outlets in the first step of his trip and answered their questions.

“We are seeking to expand interactions and develop relations with all the countries based on mutual respect which is the cornerstone of my foreign policy approach”, the Iranian president said adding “We have given priority to boosting interactions with our neighbors and building relations based on friendship and participation to deter regional insecurity amid creating frameworks for respecting boundaries and security.”

Elsewhere the President said: “We strive to replace war and bloodshed with peace and security and to create a world where humans live alongside each other based on justice, peace, welfare, and security, rather than killing each other.”

Pezeshkian stressed that Iran has proven it will never be coerced into negotiations through pressure and sanctions, stating: “According to the fatwa of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, the construction of nuclear weapons has no place in Iran’s defense and security doctrine, and while some countries falsely accuse us of attempting to develop nuclear weapons, the most extensive inspections by the International Atomic Energy Agency are being carried out in Iran.”
