With transfer of sour gas from Ahvaz gas station to a sweetening facility in Amak project zone, the first unit of the facility was put into operation on threshold of the new year.
The official in charge of Amak Project, Mohammad Bijanfar, told IRNA here on Friday that once gas was successfully transferred from Ahvaz-1 gas pressure station to the facility, the torch of the refinery started blazing.
Bijanfar said 1,500,000 cubic meters of gas is daily carried to the first unit of the purification facility from Ahvaz station.
The first unit of Amak facility sweetens 3,115,000 cubic meters of sour gases a day, according to the official.
He said the second unit of the facility will be operational in the next Iranian calendar year of 1384 (to start as of March 21).
He added that the project for collection of the oil associate gases in Bangestan, the so-called Amak project, which includes Aab Teimur, Marun, Mansouri, Ahvaz and Koupal, would be entrusted to the National South Oil Company (NSOC).
The official said major part of pipelines for transfer of gas from Ahvaz no. 2 , 3 and Mansouri pressure stations to the refinery are ready for operation.
Bijanfar said the projects for pilot operation of pipelines for gas transfer from Aab Teimur pressure station from there to Ahvaz-2 pressure station as well as from Koupal and Marun pressure stations to the sweetening facility are successfully implemented.
He said the projects for operation of Ahvaz-2 and Ahvaz-3 gas stations are on the agenda and the compressors of the stations would soon be operational.
Amak project, starting since 2000, is implemented to collect about 3,965,000 cubic meters of sour gases a day.
