Iran says ready to carry out Iraq gas projects

SHANA (Tehran) – Deputy Oil Minister Majid Chegeni on Thursday announced Iran's readiness to carry out and complete Iraq’s gas projects.

He made the remark in a meeting with visiting Iraqi Deputy Oil Minister Laith al-Shaher on the second day of the 27th Iran International Oil, Gas, ‎Refining and ‎Petrochemical Exhibition, also ‎known as Iran Oil Show 2023.

“We held very good talks about extending Iran's gas export agreement with Iraq during the recent trip to this country with Iran Oil Minister Javad Owji.”

Iran exports 35 million cubic meters of gas to Iraq per day, he said, continuing, “Iran has very good technical and engineering capacities and many project equipment are made locally.”

Shaher, for his turn, appreciated Iran's Ministry of Petroleum for holding the event and inviting Iraq.
