According to POGC, Mohammad Hossein Motejali considered the drilling of the appraisal-exploratory well of the Bilal gas field as the first step in the more targeted and principled development process of this joint field.

He said: “Drilling of this well is aimed at exploratory evaluation, description and production of gas layers began in mid-July with the installation of the rig in the field.”

The official added: “In the continuation of the appraisal of the gas layers of Bilal Field, the gas of the first reservoir layer of the field reached the surface on Sunday, January 15, and thus the flare of the drilling rig of this field was lit.”

The POGC CEO said that lighting the flare of the drilling rig of this field in a situation where the country is facing the challenge of energy supply in the cold days of the year, is promising for the planning and all-round efforts of the National Iranian Oil Company to compensate for the gas imbalance through the development of new gas fields, including Bilal gas field.
