Morteza Shahmirzaei said on Sunday that social investment of petrochemical companies must be targeted and intelligent to reduce discrimination.
He said that the annual capacity of the petrochemical industry is 90 million tons, which will reach about 200 million tons by the end of the eighth development plan to 2030, adding: "Today, an equivalent of 1.1 mbd of crude oil feedstock is supplied to petrochemical complexes which is planned to reach 2.6 mbd by 2030.”
The CEO of the National Petrochemical Company continued: "By doubling the amount of feedstock supplied to petrochemical complexes by the end of the eighth development plan, high value-added products will be produced that are not comparable to the current output."
Shahmirzaei emphasized: providing infrastructure, paying attention to the surrounding environment, social responsibility and specialized training of local forces are among the things that are necessary to achieve the development goals of the petrochemical industry.
