Alireza Sedighizadeh said on Tuesday that localization of one of the strategic and most widely consumed catalysts in the production chain of isocyanates was carried out by Iranian knowledge-based companies, adding in line with the macro policies of the Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (PGPIC) in support of Iranian manufacturers and knowledge-based companies, for the first time supply of "platinum mesh" catalyst was entrusted to the Iranians.

The CEO of Karoon Petrochemical Company stated that "nitric acid" is the feedstock for the production of isocyanate chain products, and added "platinum mesh" catalyst for nitric acid production has always been purchased with high risks and costs from countries such as Russia, India and Germany.

Emphasizing that the problems of supplying this catalyst from foreign manufacturers had increased the risk of producing isocyanate chain in Karoon Petrochemical Plant, he added: "Accordingly, with the support of Iranian knowledge-based companies, for the first time platinum mesh catalyst is produced domestically with the aim of producing nitric acid.”`
