Mehdi Jamshidi-Dana, referring to the increase in gas injection to Sarajeh and Shurijeh storage facilities, said: "The amount of gas injection into Sarajeh facility in Qom was 748 million cubic meters last year and this year it has increased by 8% to more than 810 million cubic meters."
He added: "Gas storage in Shurijeh facility of Sarakhs was 938 million cubic meters last year, which has by 48% this year and has reached more than 1.385 billion cubic meters."
According to the CEO of the Iranian Gas Transmission Company, this increase in storage will greatly contribute to the stability of the country's gas supply in the winter.
Iran has two major natural gas storage facilities in Sarajeh and Shurijeh. According to the annual routine of the National Iranian Gas Company, the processed gas from gas refineries all over the country is sent to and stored by these gas transmission companies to be used in the cold months.
