According to the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC), Mohammad Hossein Norouzi, the refinery’s CEO, said building the items had saved the company over 2 million Euros for purchasing the turbines and nearly a quarter of that amount for their maintenance.

“Given the sanctions in recent years, and the rising costs of maintenance and procurement of the turbines, our companies started to seriously consider tapping local capabilities for manufacturing spare parts for the turbines,” he said.

Therefore, a project was defined in the refinery to build and reverse engineer the strategic turbines domestically, he said.
