According to the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC), Mahmoud Hashemi said the certificate was granted to the company following an audit by foregin inspectors.
He said the audit for this certification began last calendar year which ended on March 2018, during which the administrative and industrial spaces and all the process equipment of the company were meticulously audited.
The managing director of the South Khorasan Gas Company continued: The audit process took place in six phases including initial data collection, technical audit of energy, analysis of results based on legal requirements and related standards, training and competency of the staff, planning of energy management system documentation, pilot design of the system and internal audit and, finally, independent auditing by the certifying company.
Using energy efficiently helps organizations save money as well as helping to conserve resources and tackle climate change. ISO 50001 supports organizations in all sectors to use energy more efficiently, through the development of an energy management system (EnMS).
ISO 50001 is based on the management system model of continual improvement also used for other well-known standards such as ISO 9001 or ISO 14001.
