NIGC, Kawasaki Hold Energy Talks

TEHRAN, May 29 (Shana) – National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) and Japan's Kawasaki has held talks for energy cooperation, gas turbines construction and transfer of technologies to the country.

An Iranian gas official said he has held talks with representatives of the Japanese industrial heavyweight in a push to form up cooperation in various gas-related areas including storage, consumption optimization and construction of gas turbines.

Mohammad Esmaeil Ebrahimzadeh, CEO of an NIGC offshoot in the northern province of Mazandaran, said cooperation with companies from other countries is one of NIGC's top strategies, adding that the company aims at establishing top international relations with foreign companies.

He also said the two sides agreed to form a consortium of NIGC and companies from Japan, Malaysia and Indonesia for making combined cooling heating and power (CCHP) systems.

He further said delivering gas to remote and difficult regions is another concern for NIGC for which state-of-the-art technologies and techniques must be acquired and methods like using compressed natural gas (CNG) or mini-liquefied natural gas (LNG) can be used in this regard.
