An analysis of consumption patterns across the national gas network shows that the household and commercial sectors continue to account for a large share of total use, with demand rising during peak days of the cold season.

According to the National Iranian Gas Co., gas consumption in the household, commercial and small industrial sectors totaled 621 million cubic meters on Jan. 3, showing little change from previous days. Despite the stability, household and commercial users still make up the bulk of the country’s gas consumption.

The National Iranian Gas Co. said effective demand management in the household and commercial sectors is critical to maintaining network stability and meeting the needs of other sectors. The company urged consumers to follow optimal consumption guidelines and conserve energy to help ensure a stable gas supply nationwide.
