According to ICANA, commission spokesperson Houshang Hadianpour said the committee’s presidium met Tuesday to discuss fuel supplies for the agriculture sector, payments owed to farmers, the activation of the commission’s specialized committees and reviews of their performance.
Hadianpour said the Ministries of Agriculture, Energy, Roads and Urban Development, along with the Department of the Environment, have been asked to submit reports on their respective areas of responsibility. The reports are intended to help the commission monitor the implementation of agricultural programs and address ongoing challenges in the sector.
He said the commission’s leadership also decided that the issues discussed during the meeting would be formally placed on the commission’s agenda for further review and decision-making.
Looking ahead to next week, Hadianpour said the commission will hold a special meeting with the oil minister, the agriculture minister, lawmakers and other relevant officials to address fuel supplies for agricultural tractors.
A separate meeting will bring together the agriculture minister, the head of the Plan and Budget Organization, the head of the Targeted Subsidies Organization and committee members to review the status of payments owed to wheat growers.
