MP: Oil industry to drive Iran’s postwar recovery

SHANA (SHANA) – A member of Parliament's Energy Committee said Iran's oil industry will serve as a key driver of the country's economic recovery in the postwar period, highlighting the sector's uninterrupted operations despite damage to some energy facilities during the recent conflict.

Ramezanali Sangdovini said reconstruction of oil facilities damaged during what Iranian officials refer to as the "Third Imposed War" is progressing under a carefully planned program. He added that part of the country's lost natural gas production and petrochemical capacity has already been restored, calling the recovery efforts commendable.

Sangdovini said the oil industry's operations remained resilient throughout the conflict. Despite attacks on oil infrastructure, he said the country's production, refining and fuel distribution chain continued without interruption, with oil sector employees ensuring a stable energy supply.

He said the oil industry is well positioned to become a major engine of Iran's postwar economic growth, adding that capable domestic companies are expected to play a significant role in the sector's continued development.

Sangdovini also said Iran's oil industry has demonstrated its capabilities and will continue its path of growth and development by relying on the expertise of Iranian specialists, regardless of whether foreign investment is available.
