Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei said any attack on civilian infrastructure was not merely an attack on locations on a map, but on "the right to life, security and human dignity."

"No words can describe the suffering of people who have lost their infrastructure in this unbearable heat," Baghaei said. "Those who reduce Iran to a few provinces, cities and points on a map have yet to understand the reality of this country and its collective identity."

Referring to the reported US threats, Baghaei said, "The United States will face the consequences of any adventurism involving Kharg Island."

He said Iran should not be viewed as a collection of isolated islands where one area could be attacked without affecting the rest of the country.

"If Hormuzgan is wounded, Mazandaran feels the pain. If Chabahar is targeted, the heart of Tehran beats faster. And if a child in Ahvaz is frightened by the sound of explosions, no Iranian anywhere in this land will sleep peacefully," he said. "Iran is one body, and any wound inflicted on one part is a wound to the whole."

Baghaei also praised residents of southern Iran, saying they have long borne the responsibility for the country's security, energy sector, trade, maritime activity and border protection despite enduring hardships.

"They are the guardians of the Persian Gulf and the Makran coast," he said.
