Everyone Affected by Sanctions

TEHRAN May 10 (Shana)--The export manager of the Spanish Sercobe said everyone was affected by the sanctions slapped on Iran's energy sector by western countries.

"Certainly, everybody has been affected by the sanctions. We have fallen supplies [in Iran]. We are affected and Iran is also affected", said Marcel Riudavets Slangen, speaking with Shana on the sidelines of the 19th Tehran Oil Show.

"We hope that in a very short term we can see different perspectives in a different situation," he added.

The Spanish executive also said that his company has been in Iran for as much as 50 years and has always stayed in the country despite the international sanctions regime.

Commenting on the new administration in Iran, he said the new government in Iran has made the necessary efforts to give the whole situation a completely different approach without giving up the main targets from the country.

He expressed optimism for all the issues affecting Iran's interactions with the world, and added that both Iran and foreign sides are willing to address problems for furthering business interactions.

He also noted the lack of foreign currency in Iran as it is affecting petroleum projects.

Slangen said, however, there are many interesting setups in Iran that allow foreigners to welcome parts of the difficulties under the current circumstances where everyone has to follow certain legal frameworks.

He said his company, Sercobe, has brought with it a delegation of 16 Spanish companies in pursuit of extending business interactions with Iran's petroleum industry.
