In a meeting of the Tehran Energy Committee on Sunday, Motamedian emphasized that transitioning to renewable energy is a top priority for the government. He argued that engaging private investors is a strategic necessity as the country navigates economic pressure and international sanctions.

"The core issue is not a lack of planning, but rather the slow pace of administrative processes and poor coordination between sectors," Motamedian said.

The governor general criticized the lengthy timelines required for land acquisition and permit issuance, specifically regarding solar energy projects. He warned that investors should no longer be left waiting for months while navigating bureaucratic hurdles.

Motamedian called for the formation of a unified task force to resolve investor issues rapidly. Given Tehran’s high population density and its critical role in the national economy, the governor stressed that the province requires fast, results-oriented decision-making to ensure a stable and sustainable energy supply.
