Speaking Monday at a news conference reviewing the one-year performance of the “Nabz-e Energy” – Energy Pulse – campaign and its social awards program, Ali Rabani said public participation in the initiative has grown significantly, with membership exceeding 453,000 subscribers.
“This figure is not just a statistic, but a symbol of solidarity, cooperation and efforts for a sustainable future for Iran,” he said.
Rabani thanked the Iranian public, the National Iranian Gas Company, the National Petrochemical Company and partner companies for supporting the campaign.
He said subscribers who reduced gas consumption by 10% in usage tiers three and four, 5% in tier two, or maintained consumption levels in tier one received reward points credited to their accounts between the campaign’s weekly “Energy Mondays” meetings.
According to Rabani, more than 350 billion rials (about 35 billion tomans) has been credited to participants so far, with funds available for withdrawal or donation to charitable causes.
He added that campaign participants recorded a 17% reduction in gas consumption last year, equivalent to nearly 300 million cubic meters.
“With the increase in membership from 140,000 to more than 450,000 subscribers, savings are projected to reach 700 million cubic meters this year,” Rabani said. “Including optimization projects in agriculture, industries, brick production and power plants, total gas savings are expected to exceed 1 billion cubic meters.”
Rabani also announced plans to donate 200 additional wheelchairs to targeted provinces using proceeds from the campaign. He said part of the conserved energy would be redirected to major industrial sectors, while charitable contributions would support restoration projects in the Zagros and Hyrcanian forests, aid efforts by the Iranian Red Crescent Society, and the release of imprisoned mothers.
He said the first imprisoned mother supported through public participation in the campaign is expected to be released next week.
