CNG Is a Very Clean Fuel

TEHRAN -- A member of Iran Scientific, Industrial Research Organization announced that compressed natural gas (CNG) is a very clean fuel in comparison to other fossil fuels.

A report issued by the Public Relations Department of Iran Fuel Conservation Organization quoted Lotfollah Savadkouhi as saying that a unique specification of this fuel is lack of carbon-carbon bonds and existence of abundant hydrocarbon sources rich in hydrogen. He mentioned suitable potential of CNG and its abundance in the world as other advantages of the clean fuel. "Many countries have natural gas reserves and European and American countries are pioneers in using CNG," he noted. Savadkouhi noted that Iran enjoyed sufficient CNG reserves, adding, "Future use of this fuel depends on strategic policies which should coordinate consumers and producers," he said.
