According to the public relations department of the National Iranian South Oil Company (NISOC), Hamid Bovard made the remarks Wednesday (May 28) during a meeting reviewing the latest production requirements in southern oil-rich regions.
He noted that the "Heavy Production Plan" was issued for the first time in April this year, ensuring subsidiaries have a full-year production roadmap from the start of the year.
Bovard stressed that NISOC, which accounts for over 75% of the Oil Ministry’s total production plan, plays a pivotal role in achieving the oil industry’s goals.
The deputy oil minister praised NISOC’s unprecedented production growth last year, adding that the company took significant steps to boost output in the second half of the year without full reliance on production resources. With current planning and timely operational support, production growth is expected to continue through year-end.
Daily oil production target set at 2.8m barrels
Ebrahim Piramoun, CEO of NISOC, announced the company’s oil production target for the year at over 2.8 million barrels per day by year-end. He stated that this goal is achievable through production-related projects, development well drilling, well repair and maintenance operations, and the efforts of all employees.
As Iran’s largest oil producer, NISOC plays a major role in energy supply, foreign currency revenue, and supporting the national economy. Its role in sustaining production and overcoming sanctions has always been decisive.
Advancing projects related to flare gas recovery was another key focus of the NIOC CEO’s visit. The latest updates on these efforts were presented, and necessary decisions were made during the meeting.
