Vice Presidency for Science supports reconstruction of damaged oil facilities

SHANA (Tehran) - The vice president for science, technology and knowledge-based economy said during a visit to Mobin Energy Persian Gulf Company and the South Pars refineries in Asaluyeh that efforts are underway to accelerate reconstruction of damaged oil industry facilities by leveraging technological tools and capabilities, including first-time manufacturing programs supported by knowledge-based companies.

According to the government’s official information portal, Hossein Afshin, vice president for science, technology and knowledge-based economy, traveled to Asaluyeh for a one-day visit to assess the extent of damage to Mobin Energy Persian Gulf Company and the South Pars refinery complexes during the third imposed war.
Speaking on the sidelines of the visit, he highlighted the role of the vice presidency in rebuilding damaged facilities, saying the office aims to play an effective role by utilizing technological capacities, implementing first-time manufacturing programs and relying on the capabilities of knowledge-based firms and advanced technologies.
He emphasized support for contracts tied to first-time manufacturing initiatives in cooperation with knowledge-based companies to rebuild damaged oil facilities. He added that coordination will also be carried out to use the capacity of such companies in restoring petrochemical complexes.
Afshin underscored the oil industry’s position as a symbol of national self-reliance and resilience, saying it represents not only an economic sector but also the ability of a nation to “turn challenges into opportunities.”
He noted that from rebuilding damaged facilities to developing indigenous technologies and training specialized human capital, the industry has become a platform for integrating knowledge, experience and national will.
The visit aimed to conduct a field assessment of the damage, support decision-making on assistance measures and accelerate the return of affected units to production. During the trip, Afshin also reviewed projects supported for the first time by the vice presidency, including blowers, cold boxes, turbo-compressors and other first-time manufactured equipment needed by the petrochemical industry.
