Government spokesperson Fatemeh Mohajerani said Tuesday, March 10, during a news conference that the government must continue carrying out its legal and essential responsibilities even during wartime.
Referring to the brutal attack on fuel infrastructure, Mohajerani said the incident caused serious environmental damage in Tehran.
“The government was able to organize and stabilize the fuel situation within one day,” she said.
Mohajerani added that many people believed Iran might face a fuel crisis after the attack.
“Naturally, fuel stations were crowded on the first day,” she said. “But thanks to the strong efforts of oil industry workers, the situation quickly returned to calm.”
At about 10 p.m. Saturday, March 7, four oil product storage and distribution facilities and one oil product transfer center in the provinces of Tehran and Alborz were targeted in an attack by a hostile enemy.
