Household gas use climbs as temperatures fall

SHANA (Tehran) – Gas consumption in the household, commercial and small industrial sectors rose as temperatures dropped, reaching 611 million cubic meters on Feb. 7.

An analysis of gas consumption patterns across the national grid shows that the share of household and commercial use remains high. According to data from the National Iranian Gas Co., gas consumption in the household, commercial and small industrial sectors totaled 611 million cubic meters on Feb. 7, accounting for 69% of the total gas delivered to the network.

Adhering to consumption guidelines and using standard heating equipment play a key role in maintaining the stability of the gas distribution network and preventing added strain during peak demand periods.

The National Iranian Gas Co. said managing consumption in the household and commercial sectors is critical to ensuring network stability and meeting demand in other sectors. The company urged subscribers to follow optimal consumption patterns and conserve energy to help sustain a stable gas supply nationwide.

Observing efficient consumption practices, particularly during cold weather, not only supports network stability but also facilitates gas supply to industrial users.
