Saeid Pakseresht, director of integrated planning at the NIGC, said extensive executive measures have been taken just months after the plan’s approval. He noted that 70 operator companies have so far been qualified to participate in the program.
He added that 80 contracts have been signed with operator companies across various provinces, paving the way for the implementation of consumption management and energy optimization projects.
Based on current planning and the expected performance of participating companies, gas savings of approximately 1 billion cubic meters are projected for the 2026/27 fiscal year, Pakseresht said.
He emphasized that the projected savings will complement other energy-efficiency and consumption-optimization programs and could play a significant role in managing the country’s gas demand.
Pakseresht said the gas industry is seeking to maximize existing energy-efficiency capacities and intends to make full use of the operator plan to reduce consumption and improve energy productivity.
