Household gas consumption reaches 582 mcm

SHANA (Tehran) – Household, commercial and small industrial consumers used 582 million cubic meters of natural gas delivered to Iran’s national grid on Feb. 9.

An assessment of gas consumption patterns across the national network shows that despite a slight decline, the share of household and commercial use remains high relative to total domestic gas production.

According to the National Iranian Gas Co., gas consumption by household, commercial and small industrial sectors on Feb. 9 accounted for 582 million cubic meters, or about 66% of the total gas supplied to the national grid.

Adhering to consumption guidelines and using standard heating equipment play a key role in maintaining the stability of the gas supply network and preventing additional strain during peak demand periods.

The National Iranian Gas Co. said effective consumption management in the household and commercial sectors is critical to ensuring network stability and meeting the needs of other sectors. The company urged consumers to follow optimal usage patterns and conserve gas to help ensure a stable nationwide supply.

Observing efficient consumption practices, especially during colder days, not only supports network stability but also helps facilitate gas supply to industrial users.
