Mostafa Nakhaei stressed that achieving goals such as economic growth, increased oil and gas production, and flare gas recovery requires reliance on domestic capabilities and specialized expertise. He stated that the proper utilization of these capacities will undoubtedly make achieving major objectives possible.
Noting that the country faces a growing energy imbalance while also possessing valuable achievements and significant experience in this field, he asserted that this situation requires a shift in perspective and the adoption of new management methods.
The Energy Committee member described utilizing private sector capacities and domestic expertise as essential for advancing the country's oil and energy industry. He added that fortunately, the Oil Ministry shows strong confidence in capable private companies, a prime example being contracts signed with gas processing firms.
Nakhaei emphasized the necessity of optimizing energy consumption, stating it is of great importance and will be seriously addressed by parliament according to the seventh development plan.
Referring to the country's high energy intensity, he stated that this trend must be controlled and managed through optimization solutions.
