Lawmakers allocate resources to Optimization Fund

SHANA (Tehran) – Iranian lawmakers agreed a bill in an open session on Sunday to dedicate one percent of oil and gas exports revenues (in rial) to the Optimization Fund.

A sum of 226 Iranian MPs votes in favor of the bill; 10 lawmakers opposed as four parliamentarians abstained.

Mostafa Nakhaei, a member of Iran’s parliamentary Energy Committee who voted in favor of the bill said that energy imbalance is one of the main issues of country which should be managed as has been addressed in the Seventh Development Plan (2024-2028).

Oil revenues of the country are non-rial, noted the MP adding that the lawmakers decided in today’s session to response the queries on rial-equivalent of oil revenues to be allocated to the Optimization Fund.

The Plan and Budget Organization (PBO) is tasked with dedication of oil export revenues in rial equivalent to the Optimization Fund which will help solve optimization challenges as well as narrowing imbalances gaps in different fields.
