He described training as a critical component of human capital development and said sustained attention to it is essential within the company’s organizational structure.
Referring to NIOC’s position within the Oil Ministry and the broader governance framework, Amiri-Fard said enhancing workforce capabilities can significantly improve the company’s efficiency and effectiveness in fulfilling its strategic missions.
He noted that continuous training underpins the development of employees’ managerial and technical skills, adding that targeted training helps cultivate capable, experienced and knowledgeable managers and improves organizational decision-making and management processes.
Targeted training enhances operational readiness
Amiri-Fard described highly educated and specialized personnel as among NIOC’s most valuable assets and said expanding applied and field-based training plays an important role in completing skill sets and improving employees’ operational readiness.
He also highlighted the importance of in-service training, saying it updates the knowledge and skills of employees and managers and ultimately contributes to higher organizational productivity.
Emphasizing the role of permanent staff, contract workers and third-party personnel in advancing organizational goals, Amiri-Fard said designing and implementing training programs for all job categories can strengthen organizational cohesion and workforce synergy.
Reviving vocational training centers, designing promotion systems
Amiri-Fard said reviving vocational training centers is among the initiatives being pursued, adding that such programs could be extended beyond current employees to include external participants, particularly local residents living near operational projects, to ensure access to trained talent when needed.
He also stressed the importance of designing a promotion and evaluation system for nonpermanent personnel, saying a framework based on continuous training can support career development and boost workforce motivation.
During the meeting, human resources managers and training heads of NIOC subsidiaries shared their views and raised human resources-related issues, underscoring the need for continued interaction and consultation in this area.
