South Pars Gas Complex operating at full swing

SHANA (Tehran) – The head of the South Pars Gas Complex said the complex’s refineries are producing gas at maximum capacity while fully complying with safety requirements, adding that all necessary measures have been planned and implemented ahead of forecast storm systems.

According to the South Pars Gas Complex, Managing Director Gholamabbas Hosseini made the remarks Monday during a joint meeting with Mousa Ahmadi, head of the Energy Committee of the Parliament. He said that in response to red-level weather alerts and incoming storm systems, comprehensive measures have been anticipated and put in place to ensure safety, facility stability and uninterrupted production across the complex’s refineries.

Hosseini said gas production at South Pars refineries is currently operating at full capacity in full compliance with safety standards, with nearly 600 million cubic meters of gas injected daily into the national grid.

Emphasizing the importance of reliable gas supply and byproducts during the winter, Hosseini said preventive and operational planning has been underway for months to boost infrastructure readiness, enhance safety levels, strengthen coordination among operational and support units, and increase refinery resilience. The goal, he said, is to ensure no disruption to the country’s energy supply during peak winter demand.

Strategic Role in National Energy Supply

Ahmadi highlighted the South Pars Gas Complex’s strategic role in meeting Iran’s energy needs, saying stable gas production and ensuring public welfare—especially during cold weather—are top national priorities that require round-the-clock efforts by all relevant agencies.

He praised the sustained efforts of the complex’s workforce and specialists, noting that valuable technical and innovative measures have been implemented to maintain stable production at South Pars refineries. Those efforts, he said, play a significant role in sustaining output, strengthening energy security and supporting economic growth, and deserve recognition.
