Fuel supply maintained during 12-day war

SHANA (Tehran) – The head of the Iranian Parliament’s Oil, Gas, and Petrochemical Industries Oversight Committee stated that one of the Israeli regime’s objectives in the 12-day imposed war was to target the country’s energy infrastructure. Despite the challenges and critical conditions, the Oil Ministry ensured a stable supply of fuel, including gasoline and gas.

Zeynab Qeysari noted that during the war, the enemy attempted to attack the country’s refineries using drones to damage refining facilities. The Israelis aimed to create fuel shortages and public dissatisfaction, potentially leading to street unrest.

She added that on the second day of the war, a Tehran oil depot and a fuel storage facility in southern Tehran were attacked for this purpose. Firefighting operations began immediately, and fuel supply to Tehran faced no disruption.

Referring to enemy attacks on the South Pars Phase 14 refinery and the Fajr Jam Gas Refinery, Qeysari emphasized that rapid response and timely measures allowed firefighting operations to conclude quickly. The damaged unit has since resumed production.

Qeysari highlighted the enemy’s efforts to disrupt energy production during the 12-day war, noting that in addition to direct attacks on facilities, mass civilian movements to northern regions complicated fuel distribution.

Despite these challenges, she said, the public experienced no fuel shortages—including gasoline and gas—thanks to the Oil Ministry’s preparedness, allowing the country to navigate the crisis without tension.

In closing, Qeysari expressed gratitude to oil industry officials and workers, saying, “We commend all those working in this sector and sincerely thank them for their tireless efforts.”
