Completion of flare gas recovery operation at SP Refinery 7

SHANA (Tehran) – The head of operations at the seventh refinery of South Pars announced the successful implementation of the flare gas recovery operation, stating that the project was completed with high quality, relying on domestic technical expertise and innovative measures. The installation of flare and utility line branches was fully executed.

According to the South Pars Gas Company, Mohammad Sedaqatpour noted that the operation was carried out during the refinery’s major maintenance period using domestically produced parts and equipment. He emphasized that this initiative marks a significant step toward reducing resource waste and improving energy efficiency.

Detailing key maintenance measures, he highlighted the replacement of molecular sieves in the ethane recovery unit’s solid beds, as well as the maintenance and repair of reaction furnaces in sulfur recovery units 3 and 4 of Phase 18. These tasks were completed through precise planning and active employee participation.

The operations manager added that the curing and rerouting of off-gas compressor inlet lines—which play a crucial role in reducing flare gas—were also completed with high quality and within the scheduled timeframe.
