Gov’t spox praises oil industry staff’s efforts

SHANA (Tehran) – The government spokesperson acknowledged the efforts of the Ministry of Petroleum last year to ensure optimal winter fuel supply, stating: "As a fellow citizen, I appreciate the hardworking individuals in the oil industry."

Fatemeh Mohajerani, speaking on Saturday on the sidelines of the 29th Iran International Oil Exhibition in an interview with SHANA, said: "I commend everyone working in the oil industry. This sector may appear glamorous and luxurious, but it involves intense and demanding work that many may not recognize."

She added: "During my visit to Asaluyeh and the Pars Special Economic Zone, I witnessed firsthand the dedication of oil industry workers. Therefore, as a compatriot, I thank and appreciate these hardworking individuals."

The government spokesperson emphasized the Ministry of Petroleum’s recent efforts in securing the country’s fuel supply, particularly last winter’s fuel distribution: "The past winter was harsh, but the Ministry of Petroleum made every effort to ensure proper fuel supply, which it accomplished effectively. Due to energy imbalances, we experienced some power outages last winter, but that does not diminish the ministry’s efforts. I appreciate all those who worked from extraction to fuel distribution."

Mohajerani noted the 14th administration’s efforts to maximize renewable energy use, saying: "We have launched a four-year plan to produce around 30,000 megawatts of renewable energy, hoping to implement about 5,000 megawatts this summer. Increasing power plant capacity is certainly a priority for the Energy Ministry."

Regarding her assessment of the oil exhibition, she said: "The nature of the oil exhibition is such that visiting it fills you with pride. It is truly commendable how the supply and demand chain has been brought together."
