Karun Petrochemical Complex sets monthly isocyanate production record

SHANA (Tehran) – The manager of Karun Petrochemical Complex announced that the facility broke Iran’s monthly isocyanate production record over the past four years.

Mohammad Miri said that through the relentless efforts of Karun Petrochemical’s managers and employees, the company achieved a new record by producing 4,761 tons of the product in Farvardin 1404 (March 2025).

Miri noted that this output reflects a 34.98% increase compared to the same period last year, marking a significant achievement for the company. Despite challenges in securing carbon monoxide feedstock and handling post-production hydrochloric acid gas removal, precise planning and teamwork enabled a 17% production increase compared to 1402 (2023), setting a new record over the past three years.

He emphasized that the complex, with an annual nominal capacity of 80,000 metric tons, is one of the most advanced industries with a complex and challenging production process. In Esfand 1403 (February-March 2025), process improvements and collective efforts raised monthly output to 4,631 metric tons. Then, in Farvardin 1404 (March 2024), production reached 4,761 metric tons, setting a new four-year record.

Miri credited Arvand Petrochemical Complex and the support of Persian Gulf Holding for this success. He highlighted that increased hydrochloric acid gas flow and steady supply from Arvand Petrochemical Complex were crucial in stabilizing production. This collaboration, along with Persian Gulf Holding’s role in improving coordination, helped complete the production chain and contributed to these record-breaking achievements.
