Hamid Bovard, speaking on Thursday on the sidelines of the environmental unit's launch at South Pars Refinery Phase 14, said his colleagues at the refinery successfully activated the sulfur recovery unit. He emphasized that the unit's operation will benefit the environment by reducing pollution in the region.
The primary goal of the Sulfur Recovery Unit at South Pars Refinery Phase 14 is to eliminate sulfur compounds from the refinery's flares, protect the local environment, and produce 400 tons of sulfur daily.
South Pars Phase 14, designed to produce 56 million cubic meters of rich gas and 75,000 barrels of gas condensates per day, has now become operational.
The project, with an investment of $5.2 billion, was awarded to a consortium led by Pars Oil and Gas Company.
The consortium includes the Iran Industrial Development and Renovation Organization (IDRO), Iran Industrial Projects Management Company, Iran Marine Offshore Engineering and Construction Company, National Iranian Drilling Company, Iran Shipbuilding and Offshore Industries Complex Company, Iran Power Plant Projects Management Company (MAPNA), Padidan Company, and Arak Machine Manufacturing Company.
