Ali Mohammad Mousavi, during a visit to Kharg Oil Terminal on Wednesday, described the island as the beating heart of Iran’s oil exports.
He said, “During the Sacred Defense era, Kharg was attacked more than 2,800 times by the enemy. Today, the revival of the oil industry in this region is a symbol of national resilience and pride.”
Mousavi emphasized that the comprehensive vision and precise planning of the Iranian Oil Terminals Company reflect a commitment to maintaining Iran’s global standing.
He added, “I hope that through investments in various sectors of the oil industry, our country will regain its rightful place in the international market.”
The official also expressed gratitude to the employees of Kharg Oil Terminal, stating, “As the guardians of Iran’s oil export line in the heart of the Persian Gulf, you play a crucial role in achieving the country’s economic and national objectives. Your presence on this front line symbolizes dedication and effort for Iran’s advancement.”
Kharg: Pillar of Iran’s oil exports
Abbas Asadrouz, CEO of the Iranian Oil Terminals Company, highlighted the company’s mission to ensure the continuity of oil and gas condensate exports.
He said, “Our primary mission is to guarantee safe and sustainable oil exports at the lowest possible cost.”
Asadrouz noted that the company operates in five key locations across Iran, including Kharg, North, Asaluyeh, Mahshahr, and Jask. He stated, “As an agile organization, the company bears the critical responsibility of maintaining the flow of oil exports.”
The CEO described Kharg as the central hub of Iran’s oil exports, emphasizing its strategic infrastructure, such as submarine pipelines, storage tanks, and advanced docks, which play a vital role in supplying and exporting Iran’s oil.
Asadrouz highlighted Kharg’s resilience during the Sacred Defense era, stating, “Despite numerous enemy attacks, the terminal successfully fulfilled its mission. Today, it stands as the main pillar of Iran’s oil exports.”
He also pointed to the technical advancements of the Iranian Oil Terminals Company, particularly in its oil quality measurement laboratories.
“The company operates one of the largest oil quality measurement laboratories in the world, capable of conducting all tests in accordance with the latest international standards,” he said.
Jask Terminal: Kharg’s backup
Asadrouz referred to the Jask Oil Terminal as Kharg’s backup, adding, “This terminal is currently under completion and, once operational, will enhance Iran’s oil export capacity.”
He also emphasized the importance of the North Oil Terminal, stating, “Equipped with advanced loading and measurement systems, this terminal plays a key role in storing and exporting crude oil, helping to meet both domestic and international needs.”
The CEO described the Iranian Oil Terminals Company as a vital pillar of the oil industry, continuously working to upgrade infrastructure and improve global standards in the forefront of Iran’s oil exports.
On Wednesday, Deputy Oil minister Mousavi, accompanied by Abbas Asadrouz, CEO of the Iranian Oil Terminals Company, visited Kharg Oil Terminal.
