According to Hamidreza Shafiei-Makvand, NIDC’s deputy managing director for drilling operations, the total number of wells drilled marks an increase of 17 compared to the same period last year.
Of the wells completed, 11 were developmental and exploratory, while 37 were workover and completion wells, he said.
The official added that 40 of the wells were located in the operational area of the National Iranian South Oil Co., two in the Iranian Offshore Oil Co., two in the Petroleum Engineering and Development Co., one in the Iranian Central Oil Fields Co., and three were drilled as part of specific project contracts.
Praising the dedication of operational crews working around the clock in extreme heat, Shafiei-Makvand said the total drilling depth reached 41,573 meters during the four-month period. He noted that 18 of the company's 64 drilling rigs are currently being relocated across various operational sites.
