Paknejad, in a meeting with Shahin Mustafayev and his accompanying delegation, stated that such meetings play a significant role in enhancing bilateral relations across various fields.
He noted that neighboring countries hold special priority in the foreign policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran, with Azerbaijan occupying a unique position among them.
Paknejad stressed the importance of expanding energy cooperation between the two countries, adding that joint working groups would be established to examine and follow up on strategic and technical collaboration.
Shahin Mustafayev, Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan, highlighted that this was the second meeting with Iran’s oil minister in the past three months.
He emphasized the importance of reciprocal visits and meetings, which help both sides better understand each other’s capacities and infrastructure.
Mustafayev noted that Iran-Azerbaijan relations are built on shared religious, cultural, and fraternal ties.
He added that Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev highly values these relations, believing they are firmly rooted in the mutual interests of both nations.
