Hassan Mousavi noted the increased demand due to colder weather this fall and winter.

“On Monday, 68 percent of the sweet gas supplied to the national grid was consumed by the household, commercial, and small-scale industrial sectors, marking a 10 percent increase compared to the same day last year,” he said.

Mousavi added that a total of 862 mcm of sweet gas were injected into the national grid on Monday, with 590 mcm used by these sectors.

In light of the cold weather and anticipated temperature drops, President Masoud Pezeshkian, Oil Minister Mohsen Paknejad, and other officials have called on citizens to join the "2 Degrees Less" campaign through video or written messages, urging energy conservation to ensure sufficient fuel supply during the winter months.
