Following a meeting with Energy Committee members on Monday, Paknejad remarked that the discussions provided an excellent opportunity to address major issues, including energy deficits, and to incorporate insights from committee members.
He noted that officials from Oil Ministry subsidiaries of NIOC, NIGC and NIORDC presented promising reports at the meeting.
"The consensus was aimed at creating synergies between the Oil Ministry and the Energy Committee to strategize and plan for resolving energy shortages," Paknejad said, emphasizing the importance of securing the necessary fuel supply in the upcoming month.
The minister described the meetings with Energy Committee members as highly specialized, stating that they facilitate a favorable environment for exchanging ideas and solving problems.
He added that oil managers welcome the continuation of these meetings at regular intervals.
Paknejad stressed that the energy imbalance in the country cannot be attributed to a short-term issue. "For years, necessary measures for investment and the development of gas fields have not been adequately addressed, leading to delays that affect gas production levels," he said.
Additionally, he pointed out that activities in demand management and consumption optimization should have been taken in previous years but were not carried out in a timely manner.
"As production increases, consumption rises even more rapidly. This discrepancy between consumption and production represents the energy imbalance," the minister explained.
Paknejad concluded that by focusing on demand management and consumption optimization strategies, they aim to minimize the associated challenges.
