Nearly 120 mcm of gas delivered to power plants

SHANA (Tehran) – The spokesman for the National Iranian Gas Company announced the delivery of 118 million cubic meters (mcm) of gas to power plants on Sunday.

Speaking on Monday, Hassan Mousavi stated that 856 mcm of natural gas were delivered to the national pipeline on Sunday, with 616 mcm—72 percent of the total sweet gas produced—consumed in the residential, commercial, and industrial sectors.

He noted that gas deliveries to the residential sector increased by 13 percent compared to the same day last year, citing a recent drop in temperatures.

When asked about the current gas deliveries to power plants, Mousavi confirmed that 118 million cubic meters were supplied to them on Sunday.

Considering the cold weather and forecasts of further temperature drops, President Ebrahim Raisi, Oil Minister Mohsen Paknejad, and a group of officials urged the public to participate in the "Two Degrees Less" campaign through both video messages and written communications, promoting optimal consumption and ensuring winter fuel supply.
