NIGC sends 860 mcm of gas to national grid

SHANA (Tehran) – The spokesperson for the National Iranian Gas Company stated that 860 million cubic meters (mcm) of natural gas were delivered to the national network on Thursday, of the figure, 625 mcm were consumed in the residential, commercial, and small industrial sectors.

Hassan Mousavi added that 73% of this volume, equivalent to 625 mcm, was consumed by the residential, commercial, and small industrial sectors.

Mousavi noted that consumption in these sectors increased by 8% compared to the same day last year. He attributed the rise in usage to colder temperatures in the ninth month of the current Iranian year (started November 21).

Following the cold weather and forecasts of further temperature drops, President Masoud Pezeshkian, Oil Minister Mohsen Paknejad, and other government officials encouraged citizens to join the “Two Degrees Less” campaign.
