Hassan Mousavi stated that 858 million cubic meters of natural gas were injected into the national network on Wednesday, of this amount, 645 million cubic meters were used in residential, commercial, and small industrial sectors, marking a 10 million cubic meter decrease compared to Tuesday.
He added that 75% of the natural gas delivered to the national grid on Wednesday was consumed by these sectors.
Mousavi noted that due to colder temperatures in the ninth month of this Iranian year compared to the same period last year, consumption in these sectors increased by 12% compared to the corresponding days last year.
In light of the colder weather and forecasts of further temperature drops, President Massoud Pezeshkian, Oil Minister Mohsen Paknejad, and other officials encouraged citizens to participate in the “Two Degrees Less” campaign. Through written and video messages, they urged the public to reduce their energy use and help ensure adequate winter fuel supplies.
The public's participation in the campaign has positively impacted gas consumption. As a result, daily consumption in residential, commercial, and small industrial sectors decreased from 671 million cubic meters on Monday, to 645 million cubic meters on Wednesday.
