Speaking at a Cabinet meeting on Wednesday, Pezeshkian emphasized the need to prevent energy shortages affecting industrial operations.
“All relevant authorities and agencies must work to avoid energy imbalances that could lead to power cuts for industrial units. Shutting down industries due to gas and electricity shortages will result in future shortages of goods and supplies, something we must not allow,” he said.
The president stressed that energy shortages must not disrupt industrial activity, particularly in a year designated by the Leader as the Year of Production.
Pezeshkian also called for reducing household energy consumption.
“By simply lowering the temperature by two degrees, we can save up to 50 million cubic meters of gas. Media outlets, including the national broadcaster and Friday prayer leaders, can encourage the public to contribute to this effort,” he said.
Regarding plans to boost electricity production, Pezeshkian noted, “We have extensive plans to increase power generation through solar panels and wind power plants. One of these initiatives involves equipping government offices with solar panels. Additionally, the government is ready to issue necessary permits for the private sector to invest in clean energy production.”
